Gere, C. (2006). Art, Time, and Technology (First Edition). Berg, Oxford International Publishers Limited.
A book about real-time systems in the role of art. Focused on visual art. "The term 'real-time systems' refers to the information, telecommunication and (multi)media technologies that have come to play an increasingly important part in our lives, at least in the so-called 'developed' countries".(Gere, 2006) Real-time is everything that contemporary technology needs, without it there would be no internet, email, video conferencing and no computer aided production. Makes claim that digital art is usually created with a museum / gallery site in mind.
Chapter One : Breaking the Time Barrier.
