In my practical test on this setup I have started to train the facades in reverse so that images can be made into the coloured shapes that work as a generative pattern. As this task took 47 hours on my laptop it has been a pleasant surprise to reduce this to 20 hours. This is due to the more cores and a faster clock speed on the desktop but also may have speed up with the SSD instead of a mechanical hard disk.
This experiment was very informative and reaffirms my plan to build a server dedicated to the heavy lifting instead of using my HP workstation that is more dedicated to Adobe suite and other creative software.
This is the first pass calculation for remaining time and is the lowest I have managed to get so far.

My aim is to build a Ubuntu "Headless Server" and access with my laptop.
"The main difference in Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Server is the desktop environment. While Ubuntu Desktop includes a graphical user interface, Ubuntu Server does not. That’s because most servers run headless. Instead of using a traditional keyboard, mouse, and monitor setup to interact with the machine, servers are usually remotely managed using SSH. While SSH is built into Unix-based operating systems, it’s pretty simple to use SSH on Windows as well." Moe, L. (2017, May 31). What Is the Difference Between Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Server?
